Letters From Rose
December 30, 2001
Lillith
and I arrived today Sun, Dec 30, 2001 at our new home at Desert Sky
Ranch. In case you didn't know, Lillith and I are Llamas.
Rick and Pati made us feel right at home. They had orchard grass, and
some sweet grain (mmm, our favorite).
We frolicked a lot in the acre and a half, and really enjoyed the view
of the mountains. It's really cool terrain, rolling up and down.
I hummed almost constantly, and Lillith answered quite a bit, although
in a higher pitch.
They have two dogs, Cisco and Shenda (silly names as far as we're concerned).
Cisco sits and barks, not an intimidating bark, just a curious one.
Shenda just kind of lays there most of the time..
We had a great time running just inside of the fence and making the
dogs chase us on the outside. It was Cisco that chased the most, Shenda
just seemed to follow along because it was her civic duty.
Rick and Pati sat in chairs in our yard for quite a while. They had
some sort of beverage that smelled like hops, rice and barley that had
gone bad. It was in green bottles. We thought they would never leave.
They also had chips and guacamole, and Pati would occasionally drop
a chip. I liked the chips, so that made their intrusion much more bearable.
They made a really cool barn, but they accidentally put a door that
keeps us from getting to the bales of orchard and the sweet grain. We'll
talk to them about that tomorrow.
Rick and Pati took some really cool pictures of Lillith and me. We did,
at times need to pose with Rick and Pati to make them feel important.
We'll have Pati get them developed, Rick will scan them, and then either
Lillith or I will get them posted on our website as soon as we get a
chance.
It's raining now, so Lillith and I need to head into the barn before
we get too wet and fry the cool laptop the Horn's gave us to talk us
into moving here.
As they say in Peru,
Hasta la bye-bye. (or something like that)
Love, Rose.

Hi,
It's me, Rose. Remember me? I'm the Llama that wrote you in December.
A lot has happened since then.
Rick and Pati have brought home 4 huacaya alpacas. They look like small
Llamas, they could be related to Lillith and me.
Lady bug is pregnant, due in July. She's kinda cool looking, light fawn
in color with a lighter stripe on her neck.
Maresias is also pregnant, also due in July. She is jet black, and a
big girl. She's not extremely sociable, and prefers to sit alone and
keep a watch out in case anything bad like a coyote comes by.
Honey Dew has got to be the ugliest alpaca on the planet. Don't tell
her I said that, 'cause even though she's half my size, she's mean.
Guess I'd be mean too if I was that ugly. (I'll delete this from the
cool laptop Rick & Pati gave me before she sees it)
Whitney - Wow!!! What a knockout. She's a Hemmingway granddaughter,
and with the fleece she has, she stays really warm all of the time.
She's currently off to "summer camp" to meet her new hubby.
Lillith and I have gotten used to having them around, and life has been
okay.
Now, however things could get bad.
They got hippie alpacas, and they're going to let them move here.
They call themselves "suris". Their names are "Mango" and "Sweet N Hot".
How's that for new age poo poo?
They have dreadlocks, unlike the huacayas, which have fluffy fleece.
They'll probably want to play reggae music all the time.
I'm just not sure the whole idea is a good one, it appears that "there
goes the neighborhood..."
Rick & Pati have posted pictures of the new additions at http://aaalpacas.com/huacayas.html
They're going to stay where they are for a couple of months, they need
to play with the boys a little...
As they say in Peru,
Hasta la bye-bye. (or something like that)
Love, Rose.

Hi,
Remember me? Rose, the Llama from All American Alpacas in Murrieta California.
I thought I'd update you on what's happening here.
Vivace, the male type alpaca was acting lonely, so Rick & Pati got
him a playmate, a 15 month old gelding. He's kind of goofy looking,
but cute. His name is Gaitley, but they call him Max.
The biggest news is about Maresias. Lillith and I were talking (secretly
of course) about how fat she had gotten. She looked like a pig. Well,
at 11:30 this morning, we found out why. She was pregnant, and hadn't
told us. She gave birth to a beautiful black male cria. Rick and Pati
named him "Opus One" and plan to drink a bottle of fermented grape juice
to celebrate (Yuck)
Rick is out of town doing the skydiving thing, and hasn't seen him yet.
I called him on the phone (collect, of course) and he was very excited.
As soon as Pati takes the pictures for developing, I'll scan them and
get them up on the website. (Pati still refuses to teach me to drive,
or I'd take them over myself)
Other news, Whitney grew up and got to have a male companion. She seemed
to really like Vivace, and they would make a really pretty baby. I guess
we'll see in about 11 months. Lillith and I are hoping it's a girl.
Everyone looks kind of funny here, as Rick & Pati had their first try
at shearing. They did pretty well, I guess, but I've seen better haircuts.
I remember a place that said they fix six dollar haircuts, but don't
remember who it was. Oh well, it will grow out, and cooler is better..
Well, I'd better get, Pati will be home soon and she gets mad if I'm
on her computer..
As they say in Peru,
Hasta la bye-bye. (or something like that)
Love, Rose.

Hi,
Remember me? Rose, the Llama from All American Alpacas in Murrieta California.
I thought I'd update you on what's happening here.
Opus One has been frolicking around a lot, he's kind of fun to watch.
He seems to run for no apparent reason.
It appeared that it was really annoying Lillith, as she has been a grouch
lately. She's been spitting at the alpacas, and just acting like a real
b... (well, you know)
Then, last Sunday, she suddenly had a baby! (We wouldn't want to have
an uneventful Sunday now would we?)
She hadn't told me, Rick or Pati that she was pregnant!!!
Rick and Pati named the baby Sir Prize. I haven't been able to figure
out the goofy name, but Pati said that if I sounded it out, I'd get
it. Maybe someone can help me out with it.
He's really cute, and about twice the size of Opus One. Rick is in New
Hampster (or something like that) and was really surprised when I called
him to let him know. He said his jaw hit the floor. I would have loved
to see that happen.
Sir Prize and Opus run around chasing each other through the pasture,
and really have a good time together. I'll put pictures up on the website
as soon as I can.
Rick has been out of town almost constantly since April, but will be
home soon, and he'll be home all of August. I went to Home Depot and
ordered the materials so that he can build us some new structures. With
the way our families are growing, we'll need them
Well, I'd better head out, I need to tidy up before Rick
gets home. I'll keep you updated.
As they say in Peru,
Hasta la bye-bye. (or something like that)
Love, Rose.

Hi,
It's me again. Rose. The Llama from All American Alpacas in Murrieta,
California.
Cool things have been happening here! We got to see ourselves on Animal
Planet yesterday! For some stupid reason, the show was about alpacas,
but Lillith and I managed to get into the picture as much as we could.
LadyBug and Honeydew were on there more though. It was from when we
used to live with Bill and Michelle.
Opus and Sir Prize still run around the fields a lot,
they're really a pain at times. Rick and Pati sit in their chairs drinking
one of those funny smelling beverages in the late afternoons, and I
try as much as possible to stand in the way so they don't have to watch
the kids run.
Mango is up at Windy Hill, she had a hot date with some
suri dude named King Kong. Can you believe he sold for $250,000.00???
You could buy a zillion cool llamas for that price.
Rick and Pati bought another one of those hippie suri
females, her name is Prissy. (Bleccchhhh) She had a date with Cantano
last year. Cantano is another one that suckered people, he sold for
$265,000! A zillion llamas and a lifetime supply of food...
Two days after they bought her, she had a baby girl. They
named her Cantana. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can. Prissy and
Cantana are going to stay in Washington for a while, Prissy has a date
next month with Meteor, Cantano's dad. What a floosie!

(Sorry, that was Whitney, she stepped on the keyboard. I spit at her,
she went back outside)
Lillith and Sir Prize will be going to Sir Prize's new
home pretty soon. As soon as Lillith gets back, I get to go over there
for a bit. They've been telling me about a handsome llama over there,
I want to go check him out :)
Well, I have to get back outside, I don't want Rick catching
me at his computer,
Hasta la bye bye,
Rose
